This week Alan Titchmarsh’s launched his new series called, Walks of Fame (ITV1, Sundays), here in Southwold in Suffolk. Lesley Hornby, otherwise known as Twiggy was the person he was interviewing. As we know Southwold has a special place in Twiggy’s heart, as it was here that her modelling career was recently relaunched, after a chance encounter in a Southwold pub with the executive marketing director of Marks & Spencer. The Show cut from clips from the past when Twiggy first became a global fashion icon, to shots and cheery chats with Alan in different locations in Southwold, Walberswick and Dunwich.
Titchmarsh, who is very much like Michael Parkinson in his style of interviewing, will often go for a bit of gentle flirting and this made for a pleasant sunday evening tv programme. They climbed the Southwold lighthouse, strolled down the Southwold pier, they went for a paddle in the sea, held hands, giggled a lot. It seemed a bit more of a date, than an interview.
Yet another TV programme to show how sumptuous Southwold is and we’re sure that this will help to see record numbers of tourists coming to Southwold in Suffolk this for their holidays this summer.
