Southwold Community Matron Stops Rampaging Cows

A herd of cows trotting through Reydon have been stopped thanks to the efforts of a local community matron.

Cathy Ryan was beginning to go on her Sunday morning run at 5:00am when she came across the herd of cows wandering across Reydon and set about corralling the cows for about an hour until the police arrived to assist her. About 20 or 30 cows were returned to their field thanks to the efforts of Ms Ryan and the police.

Cathy Ryan, who works at Southwold Surgery as a Community Matron, said that she put on flip-flops and a jacket over her pyjamas in order to undertake the cattle mooving, and took a stick with her to try and defend herself from any wayward cows.
