Latitude Festival is just a few days away, and as thousands of people get ready to descend on Southwold in Suffolk – here is a little guide on How To Get To Latitude Festival 2012

Arriving to the Latitude Festival By Car

First off the postcode for all you sat navvers out there is NR34 8AN.

DON’T FOLLOW YOUR SAT NAV ALL THE WAY!!! There are many routes into Henham Park, where the festival is being held and your sat nav could really confuse things. Once your approaching Southwold there are signs posted all over the place directing you the right way.

Henham Park, the site of Latitude Festival, is between the A12 and A145 north of Blythburgh in Suffolk. From the A12 and from the A145 follow the festival signs. Please do not stop on the A12 or the A145 but follow the signage straight into the car parks.

Those travelling from the south on the A12 will be directed straight into site from the A12

Those travelling from the Lowestoft direction will be directed straight into site from the A145

Those travelling south on the A145 from the Beccles direction will be directed straight into site from the A145

There is absolutely no stopping on the A145 and the A12. Tickets will be checked inside the site and not on the junctions with the A12 and A145. There is no access via the A145 Northbound

Arriving to the Latitude Festival By Train

If travelling by train you can either use Halesworth or Diss Stations – the Festival Transfer Buses run to and from both stations regularly to the Latitude Festival site.

However train services into Halesworth, are limited in capacity and festival goers coming by train at peak times on the Thursday afternoon or Friday during the day and leaving Monday are advised to travel via Diss Station instead.

For availability and to book tickets call 08456 007245 (National Express East Anglia) or 08457 484950 (National Rail Enquiries)

Check out the timetable below, so your not left standing like a lemon!

Arriving to the Latitude Festival By Bus

1) You can grab a bus from Diss Train Station and back again!

The journey time is around one hour and the bus ticket price is £6 single in advance, or £7 on the day. Please note the service is both directions when running but will only run when there are trains for the buses to meet.

From the station platform, follow the signage to the Festival Bus Stop in the RCP car park adjacent to the station.

2) Anglian Bus are running a special bus from Southwold to the Latitude Festival bus station via Wangford, Reydon and Blythburgh in the morning and early afternoon returning between 11.30pm and 12.30am each night.

3) The following local bus services can connect with the festival buses from Halesworth and Southwold

(588) Norwich / Poringland / Bungay to Halesworth

(601) Great Yarmouth / Lowestoft / Kessingland to Southwold

Arriving to the Latitude Festival By Bike

There will be bike racks available onsite for cyclists at Green Gate on the A145.

Please note that unfortunately National Express East Anglia have asked us to discourage festival goers from bringing their bikes on the trains as space is limited.

Day ticket holders arriving by bike should use the day car park to get closest to the day arena entrance.

Simon Pitcher of the Southwold Railway Trust told the BBC: “The railway station that we’re hoping to build would be something that would be designed to fit in to the landscape that would replicate the Victorian building that was originally there,” said Mr Pitcher.”

“It would enable a little bit of the railway to reopen with trains that are in keeping with the original character of the line. The Southwold Railway was a very eccentric railway built on a 3ft gauge, so a smaller gauge than normal British trains, and in that sense was unique in England.”

The project is still in the planning stages, but when it’s completed it will be yet another great tourist attraction for the area.

Southwold has always been one of the most desirable towns for British homebuyers, thanks to its excellent location and relaxed way of life

Prices have always been high, as Southwold is seen as a premium location, but in the current uncertain climate, many estate agents are turning to hi-tech Letting Agents Software to stay one step ahead of the crowd. Such software offers a suite of tools which really help deepen customer communication, from online portfolio design tools to social media marketing and even iPhone app development, all from one box.

With such powerful tools available, many estate agents who refuse to make the move into the digital age are in danger of being left behind. There really is no standing in the way of progress.

Southwold’s property market is booming at the moment, which is why agents in the area are facing stiff competition, with many showing their interest in hi-tech Estate Agency software.

But can this kind of software really make a difference? The latest generation of Estate Agency Software is a huge boon to estate agents in the local area. Southwold is one of the most popular choices for those looking to move to the Suffolk area, but until now it has been difficult for agents to establish strong communication with potential buyers.

The estate agent software helps agents automatically generate sales and marketing materials, portfolios as well as full communication integration to save potential buyers time and money. This ensures a close co-operation between agent and buyer, and streamlines the whole process.

Suffolk’ s property market is notoriously volatile, and any tool to help keep agents and buyers talking is bound to have an impact. The onbly question is, can agents afford not to move with the times?

Southwold Camping and Caravan Park, which overlooks Southwold Denes beach, is a hugely popular place to stay, and now thanks to a new initiative from Southwold Council, it may get a chance to delight even more tourists.

Currently the park is only open for seven months a year, and organisers have to turn away campers for the rest of the year. But thanks to the high demand for the picturesque camping spot, plans are afoot to extend the camping season by two further months.

The council estimates that the park could make approximately £46,800 more than it does under current rules. With this in mind, they are proposing lifting the bye law which prevents parks from opening for more than seven months a year.

The proposals also include a £15,000 investment which would add 20 new electrical hookups to the park. Currently the park is open from April 1st to October 1st, with the new plans adding a month either side.

Southwold’s ranks of multicoloured beach huts are one of the town’s most recognisable landmarks, and now, thanks to a new plan from Waveney District Council, the town is to get seventeen new huts.

As well as adding to the picturesque delights of Southwold’s beach, the huts could also raise huge amounts of money for the town. Beach huts are sold for astronomical figures, with one recently going for a staggering £60,000.

Local residents are thrilled with the news, as the money would enable the council to provide improvements all over the town, from public toilets to beachfront facilities, with the council pledging to use some of the cash for the ongoing refurbishment of Ladies’ Walk clifftop pathway.

The beach huts are a big part of Southwold’s heritage, and are hugely popular with the town’s celebrity residents. Previous high-profile owners of beach huts include Chris Evans, Michael Palin, Stephen Fry, Rowan Atkinson and Richard Curtis.

With competition hotting up among letting agents, it’s new technology that is separating the leaders from the herd. New lettings software from CFP is helping agents to stay one step ahead of the pack by allowing them to communicate with renters through social media and even iPhone and Android apps. CFP’s technological breakthrough means that buyers have a host of new tools to help them track down their perfect property, from web services featuring maps, detailed floor plans and virtual tours to mobile apps which allow them to see properties as soon as they enter the market.

With the race to stay on top of the market hotting up, it could be tools such as this that make the difference between sinking and swimming.

Thanks to the efforts of Admiral Play, kids’ playground equipment has entered an exciting new phase, and the days when a kids’ playpark would only have a plain old old slide and swing are at an end.

Admiral Play have created a range of play ideas inspired by their extensive research and development.

The key to creating truly unique and incredibly rewarding play experiences is to focus on sharing, spatial awareness and exercise. This approach means that kids stay fit while learning and having fun, and has led to the development of innovative play devices such as the Jupiter rocking board with its sturdy hand rails and extensively tested spring mechanism.

This kind of thinking is transforming the traditional playpark, entertaining kids while providing them with a wide range of learning and fitness possibilities, encouraging co-ordination and co-operation in ways that have never been seen before. Outdoor Playground Equipment will never be the same again.

Of course, even though learning and fitness are central to a good playpark design, kids need to have fun, otherwise they won’t want to play. With this in mind, Admiral have put special effort into perfecting kids’ favourites, like zip-line, slides and swings.
